Who is SLTDA
Sri Lanka Tourist Development Authority known as SLTDA is the authorized body of the government for Tourist service registration and development related activities in Sri Lanka. All the tourist service providers including Hotels, boutique hotels, guest houses, Bungalows, etc should be registered under SLTDA as a regulatory compliance.
The objectives of this scheme are to expand tourism & its related activities to the rural & to the interior areas, to support the demand created for supplementary accommodation in the urban areas, sustainable & responsible development of eco & rural tourism.
All the registered tourist service providers need to obtain SLTDA license on the year of registration and renew the license every subsequent year. In the absence of Registration/renewing the SLTDA license, the Tourist service providers will have to face resistance in obtaining some local services and/or face legal actions.
